Wake Radiology began as a one-doctor practice in 1953. Even in those earliest days, the commitment was to provide the highest quality services. This commitment guides our practice today as we work within a rapidly changing specialty and health care environment. As radiology technologies have evolved, the breadth and depth of the specialty have increased dramatically. Priorities in the healthcare field have shifted, and cost-efficiency has become a major focus. While we have implemented the administrative and business systems to effectively serve our health management clients, we have never forgotten the importance of the patient. This is one reason why we have been committed to community service from the day we began our practice.

The quality of an image and a correct diagnosis of its content can make a major difference in how a patient is treated. To assure an accurate, quality image, we acquire the most advanced technology available and employ highly trained technologists to assist. Translating this information and treating many of the conditions is the job of our 58 doctors of radiology who come from impressive backgrounds and represent all subspecialties. They work with other physicians and patients to determine the least invasive, least expensive, and most appropriate procedures.

This concern for optimum utilization is the most important challenge facing us all within today’s health care field. As the largest radiology group in the area, we have remained independent and enjoy the advantage of operating within an economy of scale. Our service area has grown in almost five decades to cover several counties. We now conduct over 665,000 procedures yearly at 16 locations, including Wake Radiology Oncology Services. We maximize utilization of all our imaging equipment, personnel, and services.

Whatever the radiology requirement, however difficult the diagnostic challenge, Wake Radiology is pleased to carry on the commitment of our founders — to provide the highest quality service to our patients and for the physicians who care for them.

We look forward to serving you soon.
