BRENT A. TOWNSEND, MD

Pediatric Radiologist

Dr. Townsend, whose expertise is in pediatric radiology, joined Wake Radiology in 2009. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in pediatric radiology from the American Board of Radiology. Dr. Townsend was a fellow at Children’s Hospital in Boston, and his residency training was in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in that city. The native of Trinidad is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University. He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC, and conducted research at the Duke–UNC Brain Imaging and Analysis Center in Durham. He completed his internship at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC. Dr. Townsend has authored articles in the American Journal of Radiology, the Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, and the Journal of Ultrasound Medicine. When not working, Dr. Townsend tries to keep up with his 3 children. He also enjoys running, cooking, and tennis. His professional memberships include the Society of Pediatric Radiology and the American College of Radiology.
