KAREN A. COATES, MD

Body Imaging Radiologist

Dr. Coates, a diagnostic radiologist, joined Wake Radiology in 1995. Her special clinical interests include body imaging, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, ultrasonography, and mammography. She is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Coates holds a medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She served her residency at North Carolina Memorial Hospital and has called North Carolina home for 30 years. She is a member of the American College of Radiology, the Radiological Society of North America, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the North Carolina Ultrasound Society. In addition to enjoying time with family and friends, Dr. Coates’ hobbies include piano, voice, gardening, and dance fitness, for which she is a practicing certified instructor.
