Data Center & IT Help Desk
Wake Radiology help desk and data center systems support more than 50 radiologists and 350 support staff as well as more than 2000 referring providers who have signed up for PACS access.
Help Desk
Wake Radiology maintains a help desk for referring providers and Wake Radiology personnel. We provide coverage Monday-Friday from 7am to 11pm and Saturday-Sunday from 7am to 8pm. After hours and holiday support are also available for help with urgent issues. The Wake Radiology help desk can be reached at 919-788-7885 or moc.darekawnull@ksedpleh.
Data Center

Since we utilize technology to the fullest, Wake Radiology hosts our own Tier 2+ data center in Raleigh. Our emphasis on redundancy, including servers, power, HVAC and networking means that mission-critical systems are available 99.99% of the time. We also have a backup data center ready to go. All this is monitored on a 7x24x365 basis so we can proactively address any potential issues.
Wake Radiology uses state-of-the-art imaging equipment which generates electronic images that are sent to a central store in our data center. They are made available for interpretation by our subspecialized radiologists in whichever office they are located. The images are also archived in three separate data centers for safe keeping. Archived images are on-line and available instantly when needed. Security, privacy and confidentiality are also forefront in our minds and we have developed policies and measures to enforce them.
Wake Radiology has space available in the data center that would be ideal to house another physician practice’s primary or backup equipment. We invite you to call our help desk if you would like to learn more about our data center and its capabilities.
PACS Access for Referring Providers
Authorized referring providers are able to review reports and view images for their patients instantly using our PACS viewing system. Access to PACS for authorized personnel can be achieved from any PC, Mac or iPad with a modern browser and Internet access. If you are interested, please click here or select the PACS button in the upper right hand corner and follow the instructions for gaining access.
Meaningful Use – Stage II
Wake Radiology stands ready to work with any physician practice to implement electronic (HL7) interfaces to their electronic health record (EHR) system to enable report distribution (with image links) and order entry. These interfaces will partially satisfy Measure 1 – to place at least 30% of radiology orders via a CPOE system and Measure 3 of the menu set – to accept at least 10% of radiology results (with image links) into the EHR. If you have an interest in pursuing this capability, please contact Ron Mitchell, our CIO, by email or at 919-232-4748.
