Insurance Plans

Wake Radiology is a contracted, in-network provider for most major managed care insurance plans. We provide imaging services and file claims on behalf of all patients, including those with out-of-network insurance plans where a higher cost share may apply. It is important that patients understand their insurance benefits, our network status and the cost implications of in-network versus out-of-network care at Wake Radiology. Learn more

The High Cost of Low-cost Imaging and Steerage

Wake Radiology understands that people may be tempted to believe that all imaging is equal or that low-cost radiology is “good enough” even though this is not the case. While club-store pricing may be fine for certain items, medical imaging is different. The difference in image quality and interpretation accuracy makes the difference in the length and quality of life for thousands of Triangle men, women and children every day. Learn more

Some payors are trying to directly influence patient and physician imaging provider choices, a strategy typically referred to as “steerage.” Given the increased prevalence of steerage and the confusion it’s causing patients and referring providers, Wake Radiology has summarized the 2013 American College of Radiology white paper on Imaging Services Steerage Programs to help answer some common questions. Learn more

Insurance on Exam Day

Please bring all insurance information to each visit. If you have insurance, you will not need to make a payment on the day of your exam unless you have an account in collections. Wake Radiology will file the claim on your behalf and simply bill you for any remaining balance after insurance has processed your claim.

Wake Radiology accepts cash, check, Visa, MasterCard and Discover in most of our service locations and at our administrative office located at 3949 Browning Place in Raleigh, NC 27609. Payment Options and Financial Assistance

Wake Radiology recognizes that some patients do not have insurance and/or require financial assistance. We offer payment plans to ease their cash flow burden or prompt payment discounts to lower their out-of-pocket costs.

  • Prompt Pay Discounts: Patients who do not have insurance or have an out-of-network plan are eligible for prompt payment discounts if they pay in full at the time-of-service or soon after receiving their first statement.

  • Payment Plans: All patients are eligible for our interest-free extended payment program. Monthly schedules and automatic account drafts can be set up to help manage payments.

Third-party Collections

Please resolve accounts in a timely fashion and make sure to contact our Billing team if a payment plan is necessary. Patients with unresolved accounts who have not made payment arrangements may be referred to an outside agency for collection action and/or reported to consumer credit reporting agencies.
