Wake Radiology Names New Practice Administrator

RALEIGH (April 27, 2011) – Wake Radiology is pleased to announce that Margaret King has been promoted to practice administrator, replacing Bill Johnson who recently retired after 33 years of service. In her new role, King will lead Wake Radiology in all areas of business development and operations management.

King joined Wake Radiology in 1982 and left to teach radiology technology at Wake Technical Community College. She rejoined the practice in 1990 as a Magnetic Resonance (MR) technologist at Wake Radiology’s MRI location at the North Hills office in Raleigh. She was promoted in 1992 to director, MRI Services. In July 2007, King was named chief operating officer for the multi-site radiology practice.

“Margaret has provided strong leadership and helped us chart a clear direction for our company,” noted Robert E. Schaaf, MD, president, Wake Radiology. “She has been especially instrumental in growing our MR services, making it one of the best in the Southeast. It is a logical step to move her into this role because she understands our practice and the technology needed to help us maintain our role as one of the top providers of imaging services in the Triangle.”

King received her training at Wake Technical Community College and North Carolina State University. She has authored numerous articles and case studies on MRI applications that have been published in major radiology trade magazines, journals and books. Additionally, King frequently lectures at professional radiology technology trade association meetings in both the United States and abroad.
