Dr. William Vanarthos joined Wake Radiology in 1998. Originally from New York, Dr. Vanarthos received his medical degree from New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. He was a resident in diagnostic radiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital at the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, and completed his fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Dr. Vanarthos is a musculoskeletal radiologist at Wake Radiology with special clinical interests in musculoskeletal and emergency radiology. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR). Before joining Wake Radiology, he was an attending physician in the department of radiology at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. He is a member of the American College of Radiology (ACR), Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and NC Medical Society (NCMS).
Dr. Vanarthos enjoys the beach, traveling, professional football, Bible study, and time spent with his wife and two girls.
