RALEIGH (August 6, 2010) – Wake Radiology welcomes Sendhil Kumar Cheran, MD to the practice. Dr. Cheran, a body imaging specialist, joins a team of 58 board-certified and specialty trained radiologists at the Raleigh-based practice.
Dr. Cheran completed a fellowship in abdominal imaging in June 2010 at the University Health Network and Mt. Sinai Hospital at the University of Toronto. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and in 2003 with a Masters of Public Health degree.
In 2004, Dr. Cheran received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham. Following medical school graduation, Dr. Cheran was a resident in the Department of Internal Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte from 2004 to 2005. He spent the following four years as a resident in the Department of Radiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
He is double-board certified in diagnostic radiology by the American Board of Radiology and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
