RALEIGH (July 15, 2010) – Wake Radiology has hired Jared B. Bowns, M.D. as an emergency department radiologist. He joins a team of five radiologists at the practice that specialize in emergency medicine. Dr. Bowns will work on site at WakeMed Health & Hospitals and interpret images for Maria Parham Medical Center and Franklin Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Bowns, who is board certified by the American Board of Radiology, completed fellowships in diagnostic imaging in 2009 at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA, and in neuroradiology in 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Dr. Bowns graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular science from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in 1999. He received his medical degree in 2003 from the University of Southern California – Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. The California native is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, American Society of Neuroradiology and Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine.
He most recently worked at Charlotte Radiology and has also served on staff at Davis Community Hospital in Statesville, NC; Carolinas Medical Center in Lincolnton, NC; and Cypress Healthcare Partners in Monterey, CA as a clinic physician.
