• We are also the only local radiology practice certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) for bone mineral density exams.
• In 2009, we became the first to provide dedicated outpatient pediatric imaging services in Wake County, and our child-friendly, pediatric imaging center is one of only a handful of its kind in the nation.
• Our Raleigh MRI office was the first outpatient MRI facility in the area and we also operate the region’s only freestanding PET-CT facility.

Comprehensive Subspecialized Imaging

At Wake Radiology, each section has a dedicated team of four or more sub-specialty trained physicians versus just one. This enables us to deliver more accurate interpretations in a timely manner and offer a full range of leading-edge studies to detect, diagnose and stage disease. Our radiologists offer subspecialty imaging expertise in women’s and breast, pediatric, orthopedic and sports, neuroradiology, body and emergency imaging well as interventional radiology and vein care. Meet our radiologists Plus, we offer a full line of screening studies to referring physicians and their patients. These include conventional and new 3D mammography, bone density studies (DXA), abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) ultrasound screenings, CT coronary calcium scoring, colon cancer screenings and CT lung cancer screenings as well as 3D mammography and Amyvid PET studies that can help rule out Alzheimer’s disease. Insurance Benefits

Wake Radiology is a contracted, in-network provider for most major managed care insurance plans. We also provide imaging services and file claims on behalf of patients whose plans (including UnitedHealthcare) have out-of-network benefits that help cover Wake Radiology imaging fees. If a patient doesn’t have insurance, we also offer payment plans to ease a cash flow burden or prompt payment discounts to lower their out-of-pocket costs. Learn more
