• For screening mammograms, Wake Radiology offers evening, Saturday and same-day appointments. Plus, walk-ins are welcome. Screening mammograms do not require a physician’s order. Wake Radiology simply requires that eligible patients have visited their physician within the past 18 months.
• For routine diagnostic X-rays, appointments are available on a walk-in basis with minimal wait times for patients who have a signed physician referral.
• For MRI services, early morning, late evening and weekend appointments are available.

Rescheduling an Appointment

Please notify us 24 hours in advance if you can’t keep your appointment. If you are calling after hours or on the weekend, please leave a message with your name, appointment time, exam type and the best phone number to reach you. A member of our Scheduling team will return your call to reschedule your appointment.

Exam Preparation

Many studies require little or no patient preparation while others require detailed preparation before the study can be performed. Our schedulers will explain any necessary preparations for your particular exam and/or your physician will review them with you at the time of scheduling. Learn more

Language Services

If your primary language is not English, language assistance services are available at Wake Radiology free of charge. Please contact the Wake Radiology office where your study will be performed. Learn more

Child Care Arrangements

Wake Radiology employees are not able to watch unattended children. Please make child care arrangements in advance of your appointment.

Insurance Information

Wake Radiology is a contracted, in-network provider for most major managed care insurance plans. For patients whose plans are not within our managed care network, we file claims on their behalf. Importantly, most of these insurance plans (including UnitedHealthcare) have out-of-network benefits that help cover Wake Radiology imaging fees. Patients are responsible for verifying medical benefits with their insurance carrier prior to receiving service. Please bring all insurance information to each visit. If you have insurance, you will not need to make a payment on the day of your exam unless you have an account in collections.
