Your Safety Remains Our Priority
With COVID-19 now part of our daily routine, our concentrated focus on cleaning and safety precautions ensure our patients and staff remain healthy. We continue to carefully monitor COVID-19 in our community and follow guidelines from the CDC, the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS), UNC Health, and the American College of Radiology. If you have any questions about how to prepare for your radiology exam please call our Scheduling Team at 919-232-4700.
Attention Mammogram Patients:
What to know about the COVID-19 vaccine and your screening mammogram.
To best support your overall health, our practice is following recommendations from the Society of Breast Imaging about COVID vaccines and screening mammograms. Read more about COVID vaccines and screening mammograms.
The SBI’s advises that when possible, and if it doesn’t unduly delay care, consider scheduling your screening mammogram either before you first dose or four-six weeks after the second dose of your COVID-19 vaccination. The COVID-19 vaccine can cause temporary swelling or enlargement of lymph nodes near the breast and under the arm pit. If this doesn’t go away after the vaccine, patients should contact their primary care doctor.
The SBI’s recommendation only applies to screening mammograms, not diagnostic exams. If you have a question about your screening mammogram or need to adjust your appointment, please contact our Scheduling Team at 919-232-4700.
We’re Prepared
Every day, we work diligently to maintain clean, safe imaging offices for both our patients and staff. We routinely care for sick patients and those with fragile immune systems. Our team is accustomed to working in an environment hyper–aware of professional hygiene and disease prevention. That’s remained true as we’ve provided essential imaging to patients and providers during this pandemic.
