Dr. Brent A. Townsend joined Wake Radiology in 2009. Originally from Trinidad, Dr. Townsend is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University. He received his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine in Durham. Dr. Townsend was a fellow at Children’s Hospital in Boston, and completed his residency training in the Department of Radiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He completed his internship at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Dr. Townsend is a pediatric imaging radiologist at Wake Radiology. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology with a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in pediatric radiology from the American Board of Radiology (ABR). Dr. Townsend has authored articles in the American Journal of Radiology, the Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, and the Journal of Ultrasound Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Society of Pediatric Radiology (SPR). Dr. Townsend was elected to the SAFEchild Board of Directors in 2015.
Dr. Townsend tries to keep up with his 3 children. He also enjoys running, cooking and tennis.
